The University of Alabama Food Pantry, in partnership with Beat Auburn Beat Hunger and the Southeastern Conference, is raising money to fight food insecurity during the second annual SEC Food Fight.
Donations are being accepted for the competition now through April 21. Online monetary donations can be made through Bama Pulse. Students looking to donate guest meal swipes can visit Bama Dining. Each dollar donated equals one point, and the school with the most points will be announced on April 22.
“Many students on our campus utilize the necessities provided by the UA Food Pantry, and it is our commitment to helping fight food insecurity throughout our school,” said Kate Graziano, team leader of Beat Auburn Beat Hunger.
“This event is different from our annual Beat Auburn Beat Hunger food drive versus the Beat Bama food drive in the fall, where The University of Alabama joins efforts with Auburn University to fight food insecurity throughout the state. This event broadens the horizons of advocacy for food insecurity in the Southern United States and unites college students throughout the region in friendly competition.”
