Seven-ton Tuska is our newest and biggest addition to the herd. He joins our elephant fossils at the Alabama Museum of Natural History. Just how big is this wooly mammoth skull? Dr. Adiel Klompmaker, curator of paleontology, provides scale. Bryant Museum has some smaller specimens. David Mize, audiovisual coordinator, towers over the one on Coach Bryant’s desk. Tasha Reedy, visitor services coordinator, and Asia Aaron, visitor services representative, love to show off the mascot exhibit. Is this Ferguson Center topiary wearing a graduation mortarboard? Why yes, he is. He sports a new look for each season of the year. The Corner Supe Store has a statue of an elephant calf and parent. UA’s elephants are always depicted with head and trunk up. But as we look around it seems like we are missing someone important. There he is! Big Al, the most famous UA elephant of all, welcomes you to campus.
