UA CONTRIBUTING SOLUTIONS TO WASTEWATER TREATMENT IN RURAL ALABAMA  — Engineering researchers at The University of Alabama are part of a prestigious project to demonstrate effective solutions to raw sewage draining into the waterways of the state’s Black Belt region.The first pilot site is planned for Newbern in Hale County. UA PRESIDENT’S ADVISORY COMMITTEE PRESENTS PLAN TO PROMOTE DIVERSITY, INCLUSION The UA President’s Advisory Committee for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion released its comprehensive report, which includes strategies for ongoing coordination and expansion of UA’s DEI efforts. The ‘Path Forward’ report was developed with an eye to the future as it relates to diversity, equity, inclusion and higher education, according to G. Christine Taylor, vice president of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, associate provost and chair of the advisory committee. COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION SCIENCES HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES ANNOUNCED — The University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences will hold its biennial Hall of Fame Ceremony on Friday, Feb. 19, 2021, as a virtual induction ceremony and celebration of the honorees. The 2020 class of inductees includes Nancy Parker Boyd, E. Culpepper Clark, Jan Crawford and Bryan Stevenson.
