Bama Dining Offers Multiple Grab-and-Go Locations, New Hours

In an effort to meet the dining needs of students and keep everyone fueled throughout the day and evening, Bama Dining offers multiple grab-and-go locations with hot meal options across campus. Days and hours of operation are extended at some locations.

Starting Aug. 25, Fresh Food Company will operate daily. Hours are Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Students are also encouraged to use their meal plans at other locations, including Mary B’s in Burke Hall, open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Julia’s Market in Tutwiler Hall, open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Lakeside Dining, open daily from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Sola, open Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. A map of dining locations is online.

While food options have shifted to a grab-and-go format at all dining locations, residential dining locations will continue with the traditional all-you-care-to-eat format. Consult the list of locations and menus.

Several retail operations have shifted due to UA’s course schedule. The following changes will be seen in facilities across campus:

  • Lloyd Hall will only operate Chick-fil-A in Stewart’s Corner.
  • Alston Bistro and Subway will close in Alston Hall.
  • The Ferguson Center food court will only operate Chick-fil-A, Wendy’s, Panda Express and Subway.

All freshmen will receive two free, reusable to-go containers that are microwavable and dishwasher safe. Students can simply bring their used container to the dining hall and deposit it in the collection bin. A cashier will then give the student a ticket that redeems the new, sterilized box when they select their meal options at the stations.

If a student would like to purchase additional containers, they are $2 for one container and $3 for two.
