UA Waives Application Fee Between Nov. 4-10

The University of Alabama is giving interested students a bit of a break in November.
The University is waiving its application fee Nov. 4-10.
During Free App Week, all UA colleges are participating including, Undergraduate Admissions, the Graduate School and Bama By Distance.

UA has successful fundraising year

The University of Alabama is celebrating the generosity of its donors. The school raised more than $200 million during the past fiscal year that ended last month. The record setting donations came from more than 63,000 people.
Trump was booed at the World Series. The Fox TV broadcast stuck to baseball.

Hoover resident Debbi Austin Land, the former director of the Clay House, a children’s advocacy center in Bessemer, recently was inducted into the Alabama Social Work Hall of Fame.
UA Sororities hold Sorority Row Trick or Treat

If you were near Bryant-Denny Stadium along Magnolia Drive tonight, you probably saw a large crowd of children dressed in costumes. Tonight, UA held their annual Sorority Row Trick or Treat.

Christ Episcopal to present ‘Requiem’ as part of All Saints Day Program

Susan Williams, an associate professor of voice at the University of Alabama, will be the soprano soloist. “We are fortunate to have such talented musicians in our community as Dr. Susan Williams who has performed in opera and oratorio throughout the U.S. as well as internationally,” said Doff Procter, the church’s music director.The performance will include the church’s adult choir, which consists of parishioners and UA faculty and students, and a six-piece chamber orchestra.
Habitat for Humanity Dedicates 129th Home to Female Veteran

The home will be built in conjunction with the Association of the U.S. Army, West/Central Alabama Chapter, the Hillcrest High School Army Junior ROTC program, Alabama Marines Foundation, McAbee Construction, Randall – Reilly, the University of Alabama Habitat Campus Chapter, University of Alabama Law Students, and many local businesses and individuals.
UA and Auburn compete in blood drive

The two schools are competing in an blood drive that will benefit the American Red Cross. The drives will be November 12 through 14, from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. each day. The UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA will hold blood drives in the Ferguson center. Auburn university will their drives in the student center. Each school wants to collect the most pints of blood for hospital patients in need and win bragging rights.
