UA Faculty Member, Collaborator to Display Photographs of Cuban Farmers in Rome for Vatican Celebration

An exhibit featuring a series of photos taken in Cuba by Chip Cooper, faculty member and artist-in-residence at The University of Alabama’s Honors College, and Julio Ángel Larramendi Joa will be on display starting June 4 at the Massimiliano Massimo Institute in Rome in an exhibit titled “ Campesinos.” The exhibit is part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the Vatican.

Former Cuban Air Force Brigadier General to Present UA Lecture

Brig. Gen. Rafael del Pino, who was second-in-command of the Cuban Air Force during Fidel Castro’s regime, will present a lecture on his book, “Inside Castro’s Bunker,” Monday, June 8 at 3 p.m. in room 256, the Robel Room, of ten Hoor Hall on The University of Alabama campus.
