TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Officials from the Southeastern Conference, Turner Sports, the Phoenix Suns and Atlanta Falcons are among nearly two dozen speakers slated to participate in a new sports management lecture series at The University of Alabama.
The Sport Management and Communication Lecture Series begins Friday, Sept. 11, when the SEC’s Leslie Claybrook, Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage and WVUA sports anchor Jenn Chapman will take part in the first of seven events this fall. The series is sponsored by the Sport Management program in UA’s College of Education, the UA Graduate School and the Alabama Program in Sports Communication in the College of Communication and Information Sciences,
Lectures will begin at 11 a.m. in Room 310 of Bidgood Hall. Each lecture in the series is open to the public.
“The College of Education Sport Management Program, the Alabama Program in Sport Communication, and the Graduate School are delighted to welcome such a varied and distinguished group of sport industry professionals to the Capstone,” said Dr. John Vincent, coordinator of the Graduate Sport Management Program and professor of kinesiology at UA. “We are grateful to them for their willingness to share insights from their careers, discuss contemporary trends and mentor sport management and communication students.”
