UA to Host Robotics Competition

Students from across Alabama, from third graders to seniors in high school, will be at The University of Alabama April 11 programming robots and hoping their instructions are good enough to win the Alabama Robotics Competition.

UA Lecture Series Honors Men in Nursing

The University of Alabama’s Capstone College of Nursing recently announced the establishment of the Joe Burrage Memorial Lectureship series. Established in honor of Dr. Joe Webb Burrage Jr., who served as the nursing college’s assistant dean of graduate programs until his death on Feb. 19, 2014, the lectureship will celebrate and acknowledge the work of male nurse leaders.

UVA Professor to Present Lecture on Philosophy of the Mind

Dr. Brie Gertler, a Commonwealth Professor of Philosophy at the University of Virginia, will discuss her ideas on whether the mind extends beyond the body in the third lecture of The University of Alabama’s 2014-2015 Philosophy Today series.

Harvard Professor Presents ‘Literature from the Tablet to the iPad’ at UA

Martin Puchner, a professor at Harvard University and an expert on world literature, drama, modernism, and philosophy, will present “Literature from the Tablet to the iPad” Wednesday, April 8 at 4:30 p.m. in room 125 of ten Hoor Hall on The University of Alabama campus.
