UA Student Body Elects Junior From Pelham as SGA President

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Elliot Spillers, a junior from Pelham majoring in business management, was elected president of The University of Alabama Student Government Association for the 2015-2016 term.

Some 14,931 votes were cast in the election that was held through online voting Tuesday, March 10.

Spillers received 8,602 votes to defeat challenger, Stephen Keller, a junior from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, majoring in finance and economics.

Other executive officers included:

Executive vice president: Polly Ricketts, of Birmingham.

Vice president for academic affairs: Addison Arnold, of Lexington, Kentucky.

Vice president for external affairs: Jonathan Hess, of Tuscaloosa.

Vice president for financial affairs: Ben Leake, of Normal, Illinois.

Vice president for student affairs: Branden Greenberg, of Montgomery.

Executive secretary: Katrina Swarthout, of San Jose, California.
