UA Social Work to Host Drug-Use, Addiction Symposium

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Phi Alpha Honor Society of The University of Alabama School of Social Work will host a symposium titled “What’s the Problem? A Dialogue about Drugs” Friday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m. in room 223 of Little Hall on the UA campus.

The symposium will include a panel of drug addiction and counseling experts, including Diana Lynn Pruitt, substance abuse counselor in Kennesaw, Georgia, who will speak and lead discussions during the course of the event.

Phi Alpha, the national honor society for social work students, promotes close connections among social workers and humanitarian goals and ideals.

The symposium is free and open to the University community and the general public.
