UA Circle K Hosts Benefit Roller Skating Event

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama Circle K student organization invites the public to a benefit roller-skating event from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Super Skate rink on McFarland Boulevard.

The event will raise money for the family of Jason McNeil, a Tuscaloosa resident and longtime Kiwanis Club member who was critically injured in a random act of violence in New York last summer.

Admission to the event is $5 and includes the cost of skating. Proceeds will go to McNeil’s wife and two young daughters to assist with the substantial ongoing cost of his medical care following the incident.

“Jason was a very active member of the community, and he always had a helping hand in something going on,” said Sarah Kidwell, fund-raising chair for Circle K at UA. “Since his accident, he has had a lot of medical bills to pay for, and we are trying to raise funds to help him out.”
