UA’s Creative Campus Event Examines Worth of a Dollar

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — What is a dollar? A buck is a buck is a buck, right? But, what does that dollar mean to an artist, a nutritionist or a small business owner? The University of Alabama’s Creative Campus tackles that subject at an Object X event Monday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. in ten Hoor Hall’s room 30.

Object X is a speaker series in which professors and students from various disciplines across The University of Alabama campus analyze a single object to highlight the multiplicity of perspectives present in daily life.

The discussion features several UA professors and students, including photographer Chip Cooper, Honors College artist in residence; Lauren Lock, panhellenic community member; Hannah Rath, former president of Project Health; Dr. Kristen Warner, assistant professor of telecommunication & film; Phillip Weaver, owner of Buffalo Phil’s; and Craig Wedderspoon, associate professor of art, sculpture. This event will also include a spoken word performance by theater student Eric Marable.
