Gaskin Named Associate Vice President for Advancement at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Keith Gaskin has been named associate vice president for advancement at The University of Alabama. His appointment was effective Feb. 3.

“Keith Gaskin brings years of experience, success and leadership in fundraising to our advancement team, and we are looking forward to working with him,” said Dr. Karen Baldwin, UA vice president for advancement.

Gaskin comes to UA from Mississippi State University where he has served as senior director of development since 2005. He joined Mississippi State in 1995 as a development officer and was promoted to director of development in 1997 and held that position until 2004. He served as vice president for development for Palmer Home for Children in Columbus, Miss. from 2004-2005.

“I am truly honored to join the advancement team at the Capstone,” Gaskin said. “I look forward to working with a great group of professionals and building relationships with the generous alumni, donors and friends of this outstanding university.”

Gaskin earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1987 and his master’s degree in public policy and administration at Mississippi State in 2000. He is completing his doctorate in community college leadership at Mississippi State. He has also attended leadership programs at Harvard and Rhodes College.
