UA to Sponsor Student Leadership Development Session in 2014

The University of Alabama’s Division of Student Affairs will host the first campus-based session of the LeaderShape Institute in May 2014. Applications will be available in January 2014 through UA’s student leadership programs. The LeaderShape Institute is a six-day ethical leadership development program organized through the Office of Student Leadership in the Division of Student Affairs. The division will sponsor 60 students to attend the UA session, covering the program cost as well as travel and lodging.

UA Faculty Aids in Push to Pardon Scottsboro Boys

University of Alabama faculty aided the Scottsboro Boys Museum and Cultural Center in setting the stage for the state to rectify a miscarriage of justice when the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles meets Thursday, Nov. 21 in Montgomery to discuss posthumous pardons for the “Scottsboro Boys.”

UA Study: Holiday Driving Dangerous, More So Just Before Christmas

The days just before Christmas, as people rush to buy presents and travel to holiday destinations, can be more dangerous on roadways than the days surrounding Thanksgiving and New Year’s, according to a recent study of traffic data by The University of Alabama Center for Advanced Public Safety.
