The University of Alabama has become one of the newest partners of Hathitrust, a partnership of major academic and research libraries collaborating in a digital library initiative to preserve and provide access to the published record in digital form.

UA Scientists among IceCube Collaborators Pushing Neutrinos to Astronomy’s Forefront

Today, nearly 25 years after the pioneering idea of detecting neutrinos in ice, the IceCube Collaboration, including University of Alabama researchers, announces the observation of 28 very high-energy particle events that constitute the first solid evidence for astrophysical neutrinos from cosmic accelerators.

UA’s Circle K Student Group Offers Luminaries on the Quad

The University of Alabama Circle K student organization will host its annual Luminaries on the Quad event from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. During this community service leadership project, Circle K members arrange thousands of luminary candles on the Quad between Denny Chimes and Gorgas Library and along University Boulevard. The event is free and open to the public.

UA Wins $2.2 Million Grant to Improve School-Readiness, Family Well-Being in Head Start

More than 500 Head Start pre-schoolers across nine West Alabama counties and their families will directly benefit from a $2.2 million grant awarded to a group of University of Alabama faculty members.
