TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama Public Radio, housed in The University of Alabama’s College of Communication and Information Sciences, has announced changes to its radio schedule.
Beginning Aug. 1, APR will deliver listeners an extra hour of NPR’s news program “All Things Considered.” It will now air between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., followed by business news on “Marketplace” with Kai Ryssdal. Then, at 6 pm, “All Things Considered” continues with updates from around the state, nation and the world with hosts Ryan Vasquez of the APR news team, and NPR’s Robert Siegel, Audie Cornish and Melissa Block. The expanded “All Things Considered” will replace PRI’s “The World.”
Beginning Saturday, Aug. 3, at 3 p.m., APR will begin a weekly broadcast of “RadioLab” with Robert Krulwich and Jad Abumrad. Each one-hour episode tackles various philosophical and scientific topics with a signature production style. “RadioLab” will replace “This American Life.”
Alabama Public Radio airs statewide on WQPR 88.7 FM – Florence/Muscle Shoals; W264AI 100.7 FM – Huntsville; WUAL 91.5 FM – Tuscaloosa/Cottondale; APR 88.3 FM – Selma /Montgomery; WHIL 91.3 FM – Mobile/Gulf Coast Region.
