TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Actor Brian Kerwin, best known for his roles in “The Help” and “Elementary,” will speak to a class of University of Alabama telecommunication and film students March 14.

Kerwin will visit as a guest of producer AD Oppenheim, a Hollywood producer and adjunct instructor in the telecommunication and film department. Oppenheim, an alumnus of the department, typically teaches his production class via Skype but will also visit campus for the session.

“We’re very excited to have Brian Kerwin on campus and very excited to have alumni like AD Oppenheim who can bring LA to UA,” said Dr. Glenda Cantrell Williams, chair of the telecommunication and film department. “The TCF department is preparing our students for careers in the entertainment industry, and guests of Brian’s caliber are a tremendous learning experience and networking opportunity for our majors.”

Kerwin will speak to the class from 3:30-4:45 about working with producers from an actor’s perspective, including how to work with different types of people in Hollywood.

Media members are welcome to attend the session, which will be held in Reese Phifer Hall, room 104D.
