TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Two new members have been named to the advisory board of trustees of the Alabama Center for Real Estate at The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce.
“Our advisory board of trustees is a vital part of ACRE,” said Grayson Glaze, the center’s executive director. “The board members represent a vast wealth of knowledge of all facets of the real estate industry, and we are grateful that they are willing to share it with us and all of our constituents.”
The new members are Amy Dunavant, sales manager, new business development,
Alabama Gas Corp.; and Jason Hale, vice president of MarketGraphics Southeast.
Dunavant began her career with Alabama Gas Corp. in 1975. She serves on the board of directors of the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders, where she is a member of the compensation committee.
Dunavant is a member of the Birmingham Commercial Real Estate Women, Birmingham Bar Association and state of Alabama Home Builders Association. She is past chair of the HBA Foundation Committee, past chair of the GBAHB Professional Women in Building Committee, past member of GBAHB Executive Committee and the GBAHB Governmental Affairs Committee.
Dunavant was inducted into the State Home Builders Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Local Home Builders Association Hall of Fame in 2006 for her accomplishments in the home building industry in Alabama.
Hale is vice president of MarketGraphics Southeast, a residential research and consulting company serving Alabama and Northern Florida. MarketGraphics Southeast is a licensed affiliate of MarketGraphics Research Group, one of the nation’s largest new residential construction research firms.
MarketGraphics Southeast serves a wide range of clientele, including many of the largest builders, developers and lending institutions, as well as small companies in local markets. Their services include a variety of research products, as well as individual consulting.
Hale also is president of Willow Homes, a residential construction company in Birmingham that specializes in custom renovation, remodeling and new construction.
He is a licensed attorney and Realtor. Before starting MarketGraphics Southeast in 2007, he was a practicing attorney for six years, focusing on civil litigation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Auburn University and a law degree from Cumberland School of Law.
ACRE’s core purpose is to advance the profession of real estate in Alabama by providing relevant resources in the areas of research, education and outreach. The center, founded by the Alabama Association of REALTORS, the Alabama Real Estate Commission and the Office of the Dean in 1996, also acts as an industry liaison for the benefit of business school students pursuing a career in real estate. The relationship between the center and its industry stakeholders is one of the center’s greatest strengths.
