CHES Professor at UA Receives Educator of the Year Award

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Dr. Tyra W. Hilliard, associate professor in The University of Alabama College of Human Environmental Sciences, has received the 2012 Educator of the Year Award from the Professional Convention Management Association.

Hilliard was recognized for her work as an outstanding mentor, teacher, researcher, scholar and adviser.

She has developed undergraduate and graduate courses using industry-best practices, and has focused the re-design of program curriculum on relevant marketplace competencies.

Hilliard also serves as a reviewer for Professional Meeting Management.

PCMA honors outstanding members for their contributions to the organization and the meetings industry at large. The award winners will be recognized at the 57th annual PCMA meeting early next year.
