TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama Community Service Center is partnering with the Career Center to offer the Nonprofit Protégé Program for a second semester.
The Nonprofit Protégé Program program is an eight-week experience that allows UA students to work alongside a nonprofit administrator/CEO in Tuscaloosa.
Applications are now being accepted and are due by Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 5 p.m. to the Community Service Center, 346 Ferguson Center.
Some of the program requirements include participating in an orientation session, communicating with the nonprofit mentor to create a weekly schedule at the agency, signing a confidentiality document and developing an initiative to increase UA’s volunteer contributions to the nonprofit organization.
“The Nonprofit Protégé Program helped with my job preparation before graduation and helped me figure out my place in the nonprofit field,” said Alyssa Dineburg, a program participant and recent UA graduate.
Students are required to be at least a sophomore and have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. A limited number of students will be selected to work with an organization leader.
After a review of all applications, candidates will undergo an interview for a position and all applicants will be notified of their status in the program.
