Students to Compete for Miss UA Crown

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A new Miss University of Alabama will be selected Saturday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa.

The 2012 competition will have 21 students competing in categories of private interview, swimsuit/physical fitness, talent, evening wear and on-stage question. The winner will receive numerous gifts including a full-tuition scholarship and book scholarships for her year of service, and she will also represent the University at the 2012 Miss Alabama Pageant in Birmingham in June.

The Miss University of Alabama Program is an official preliminary competition for the Miss Alabama and Miss America Organizations and is sponsored by the UA National Alumni Association.  Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students and $5 for children younger than 12. Tickets may be purchased from any contestant or in the lobby of the Bama Theatre the night of the competition
