NPHC to Hold Unity Week at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama chapter of the National Pan-Hellenic Council is hosting NPHC Unity Week events Saturday-Wednesday, Feb. 4-8.

The National Pan-Hellenic Council is the coordinating body for the major African-American intercollegiate Greek letter organizations on campus. Member organizations sororities include Alpha Kappa Alpha,  Delta Sigma Theta, Zeta Phi Beta and Sigma Gamma Rho; fraternities include Alpha Phi Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Phi Beta Sigma and Omega Psi Phi.

NPHC promotes interaction through forums, meetings and other mediums for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities and functions.

UA Unity Week events include:

Feb. 4- NPHC Olympics at UA Recreation Field, noon-4 p.m.

Feb. 5 – Super Bowl Watch Party at Mellow Mushroom, 5 p.m.

Feb. 6 – NPHC Day of Service Part Two at Tuscaloosa One Place, Boys and Girls Club, Tuscaloosa Animal Shelter, West Alabama Food Bank or Tuscaloosa area volunteer reception area. Sign up for this event is required and is located in the Greek Affairs office.

Feb. 7 – “UA Greek Mythology 101” forum in 120 Farrah, 6-8 p.m.

Feb. 8 – Bible Study with IMPACT Nation in 309 Ferguson, 7-8 p.m.

All events are open to the public.
