UA Offers Pre-, Post-Holiday Recycling Drop Off to Community

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Community members looking for a place to drop off their pre- and post-Christmas recyclables have the option of using The University of Alabama recycling center.

Located at 1115 14th St., UA’s Ancillary Services Building will accept recyclables from the community from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Dec. 22-23 and from 8 a.m. until noon on Dec. 24. It will be closed Christmas and will re-open Dec. 26 and be open through Dec. 30 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

On Dec. 31, the facility will open from 8 a.m. until noon, it will be closed Jan. 1, and it will open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Jan. 2.

The facility accepts cardboard, all types of paper, including Christmas wrapping paper, all types of plastic and various other recyclables, including aluminum cans, said Tony Johnson, executive director of logistics and support services at UA. It does not accept glass.
