ATHLETICS

The last home football game of the season occurs on Saturday, Nov. 19, when the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Georgia Southern Eagles kick off at 1 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The game will be televised on Pay-Per-View. The Student Government Association has launched the Turn It Up Tide campaign to encourage students to show up and be loud for Crimson Tide athletic events.

EVENTS

The annual Beat Auburn Beat Hunger Food Drive ends Friday, Nov. 18. Here’s how to help: place donations in red barrels across campus or in the white truck on the corner of McCorvey Drive, make monetary donations to the Community Service Center in 346 Ferguson Center, online at http://beatauburnbeathunger.ua.edu/makedonation.cfm, or text BAMA to 27722 to donate $10. The campaign will conclude with promotional items and coupons in the Ferguson Center Plaza Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Residence Hall Association will host a rave in the Ferguson Center Ballroom on Friday, Nov. 18, from 9 p.m. to midnight. Glow sticks and snacks will be provided.

ABXY will host its final game night of the semester on Friday, Nov. 18, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Ferguson Center game room. Join fellow gamers to play the season’s hottest titles. The first Gobble Wobble Fun Run and Carnival will be held Sunday, Nov. 20, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the Quad. The event promotes a healthy lifestyle and is being sponsored by the Ferguson Center, the human nutrition and hospitality management department, and the graduate-student program. First-place prize is a Nike-plus Sport Watch powered by TomTom. Second-place and third-place winners receive gift certificates to a local athletic or outdoor store. Everyone who signs up receives a free T-shirt. Registration fee is a children’s book. More information: University Programs at 348-7525.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Students can volunteer to help repair and remodel the homeless shelter for the Tracy Dent Foundation. Volunteers are needed to assemble walls and lay bricks from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18. All volunteers must wear close-toed shoes and appropriate clothing for construction work. Volunteers will assemble from 1:30 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Ferguson Center Plaza.
