Economy to surge as tornado recovery unfolds

A study by the University of Alabama predicts, up to 13,000 jobs, and more than $1 billion dollars from the state’s-economy. But, when recovery activities are added in, you see the numbers in a new way. The study predicts, the end result will be up to 73,000 new jobs, and nearly a $3 billion economic-boost.

… Spann’s concerns are backed by the University of Alabama who found fewer than 100 warnings issued in the late 1980s, compare that to almost 88 in recent years. UA attributes the spike in warning to the advent of Doppler radar and the ability to better track storms.
