TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Sanspointe, a professional dance company based in Birmingham, will present “Dances Fall,” a free public performance, at The University of Alabama, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, in Morgan Auditorium.
The concert will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the artists.
The 40-minute program consists of the premiere of “Roost” by Chicago-based guest artist Margi Cole and other works. Sanspointe has close ties to UA since many of Sanspointe’s artists are graduates from The University of Alabama holding degrees in dance. Of the six company members that will perform in the program, five of them graduated from UA between 2002 and 2009 and were part of UA’s department of theatre and dance.
Sanspointe was founded by UA graduate Michelle Hamff in 2003 to provide choreographers and dancers with an opportunity to create new work, collaborate artistically and present high-quality modern dance performances for the community. To learn more about Sanspointe, visit www.sanspointe.org
