Residential Housing, New Construction Reports on UA Website

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The latest look at the housing situation in Alabama is now available on the Web from the Alabama Center for Real Estate at The University of Alabama.

The Alabama housing report, which tracks total home sales on a monthly basis, shows Alabama home sales for June 2010 off about 1 percent from May 2010 and up 7.6 percent from June 2009. The complete report can be found at http://bit.ly/9hRnkj.

New home starts were off in June 2010 from May 2010 by 11 percent and were 8 percent behind June 2009. The complete New Construction Report can be found at http://bit.ly/cPVzCd.
