ANNOUNCEMENTS
Details and dates for the sale of student football tickets for the 2010 season have been finalized. The sale will be broken up into five days based on each student’s credit hours. These are UA hours and do not include transfer or AP hours. Following is a timeline that explains what each student needs to do in order to participate in the online sale. Additional information.

All currently enrolled students should go to http://mybama.ua.edu and click on the Student tab. Students must opt-in in order to be eligible for the student sale. Students can do this anytime through 4:30 p.m. CDT on April 30. - May 24-28
Students who indicated they were interested in tickets during the opt-in period will receive an e-mail letting them know their sale dates. Sale days will be based on total credit hours. - June 14-18
Each student’s credit hours determine which day a student will participate. For each day, the University will allocate tickets based on the percentage that each group represents in the total group of students. For example, if 27 percent of interested students fall between 31 and 60 hours, 27 percent of the tickets will be allocated for that day. Following is the breakdown for each sales day: Monday, June 14: 0-30 credit hours
Tuesday, June 15: 31-60 credit hours
Wednesday, June 16: 61-90 credit hours
Thursday, June 17: 91 or more credit hours
Friday, June 18: graduate students
Student packages will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis each day, with a limit of one package per student. If you have questions on the returning-student sale, contact the Alabama Ticket Office at 205-348-2262.
Incoming freshman students and transfer students will participate in a separate sale on June 1.
Now is your last chance to complete a census form. You may fill out a form by telephone. Never provide your Social Security number or any bank and financial information to anyone. The U.S. Census Bureau will not charge a fee to complete or process a form by telephone or to apply for a job. For questions or concerns, call the local census office at 535-3511. Beginning this semester, paper-course evaluations will no longer be collected in class, marking the final stage of the transition to a new, online Student Opinions of Instruction system that began during Fall Semester 2008. Students are invited to complete questionnaires via the online system between now and May 2. Reports for faculty and administrators will be available after May 11. Students, faculty and administrators may access the system by logging into myBama and clicking on the Student Opinions of Instruction box on either the student, faculty or employee tabs. Veteran Center readjustment counseling services are now available on campus every Friday. Alisha Stanton, LGSW, readjustment counselor from Birmingham, will provide counseling and readjustment to UA student veterans. If you have served in combat or have experienced sexual harassment or sexual trauma while on active duty in the military, you are eligible for services. EVENTS, ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT
Three-time Tour de France champion and fitness expert Greg LeMond will speak at the Student Recreation Center on April 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Activity Center. He will talk about his cycling career, offer fitness tips and answer questions from the audience. This event is free. Information about LeMond: http://www.greglemond.com.
A meeting for volunteers interested in helping with a summer 5K run will be held April 29 at 4:30 p.m. in 322 Russell Hall. Volunteers are needed for the day of the event only, which will be June 12. More information: Kristin Robinson.
The annual BFA juried exhibition in UA’s department of art and art history is open through April 30 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Galleries, 2315 University Blvd., downtown Tuscaloosa. Exhibitors are UA art students Ginger Baker, Catalina Bonet-López, Jeremy Davis, Patricia Davis, Haley Finlay, Brook Howell, Amber Jones, Ethan Murray, Patrick O’Sullivan, Harrison Prince, Meredith Randall and Molly Brooke Threadgill. The Documenting Justice Film Screening will be held April 27 at 7 p.m. at the Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa. The film screening is the culmination of a year’s work by non-film students. The films focus on stories of justice and injustice in Alabama. More information: Heather Christenen at 348-6495.
The Excel Leadership Conference will be held in Black Mountain, N.C., July 30-Aug. 2. The conference is dedicated to the exploration of leadership, values, and ethics and their application in the real world. E-mail Charlotte Brown by May 1 to register.
