Kappa Delta’s Shamrock Run Supports Prevention of Child Abuse

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Zeta chapter of Kappa Delta sorority at The University of Alabama is sponsoring the 5K Shamrock Run to benefit Child Abuse Prevention Services of Tuscaloosa and Prevent Child Abuse of America on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 10 a.m. at the Kappa Delta house.

Awards will be given to the top three men and women finalists.

The race costs $20 to enter and will include a T-shirt (unless the runner wants to forfeit the shirt and donate the money to the agencies). Checks should be made out to Kappa Delta.

The Zeta chapter of Kappa Delta joins chapters throughout the nation this year in efforts to support the prevention of child abuse. CAPS of Tuscaloosa focuses on the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect, and also provides school programs that teach children personal boundaries, anger management, problem solving, communications skills and other necessary skills to help prevent abuse. Prevent Child Abuse of America’s mission is to “prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation’s children and includes all forms of abuse and neglect, whether physical, sexual, educational or emotional.”

The event is made possible by the support and participation of the members of Kappa Delta, Kappa Delta alumnae and businesses throughout the state. For more information about the run, contact uakd.shamrockrun@gmail.com
