UA Political Scientist Says Afghanistan War Becomes President Obama’s War

…University of Alabama political science department chair Dr. David Lanoue. He says the President wants to send these extra troops in hopes of stabilizing the situation in Afghanistan, which could eventually lead to a troop withdraw later on. But Dr. Lanoue says once the President send in these extra troops, this becomes his war. “He’s going to be held accountable for how these troops do and how the country fares in the war.”

Sculptor, collaborators to sign book today at UA

The main creative team behind ‘Tin Man,’ the University of Alabama Press book about Alabama sculptor Charlie Lucas, will be signing copies of the book from 4:30 to 6 p.m. today at Maxwell Hall on the UA campus. Self-taught artist Lucas, photographer Chip Cooper and interviewer Ben Windham will be signing ‘Tin Man.’ Lucas will demonstrate his work, and Cooper will display original prints…
