Miss UA Competition to be Held on Campus Jan. 17

TUSCALOOSA Ala. — The 2009 Miss University of Alabama competition will take place Saturday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. in Morgan Hall Auditorium on the UA campus.

The theme for the 2009 competition will be “Mardi Gras.”

With the reputation of being one of the most competitive Miss Alabama preliminary programs in the state, the 2009 Miss UA Program will have 20 contestants competing in categories of private interview, swimsuit/physical fitness, talent, evening wear and on-stage question.

The winner will go on to represent UA at the 2009 Miss Alabama Pageant in Birmingham in June. Additionally, she will receive a full-tuition scholarship for her year of service.

Tickets may be purchased from any contestant or in the lobby of Morgan Hall the night of the pageant.
