Hank Klibanoff, a managing editor for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and co-author of “The Race Beat,” will receive the 2008 Clarence Cason Award in Nonfiction Writing from The University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences Thursday, March 6 at a dinner in his honor at the Bryant Conference Center Rast Room.

Cynthia Cooper, who received her master’s degree in accountancy from The University of Alabama and has achieved worldwide acclaim for her role in uncovering the corporate fraud at WorldCom, will return to Tuscaloosa to talk about her new book, “EXTRAORDINARY CIRCUMSTANCES: The Journey of a Corporate Whistleblower.”
