TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Imagination, global thinking and transformative language are just some of the themes artists from Creative Leaps International will explore and celebrate at a free concert, “Unless the Mind Catch Fire … A Concert of Ideas,” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13 in the Concert Hall of the Moody Music Building on The University of Alabama campus.

The concert, which is titled after a William Blake poem, is a unique combination of artistic performances and motivational leadership training that is designed to set the mind in motion, catalyze creative thinking, help participants connect with the ideals and ideas they value most, and initiate change in both one’s spirit and intellect.

Albert Einstein said, “The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.” The concert, “Unless the Mind Catch Fire …,” offers its participants an opportunity to shift their levels of thinking, to rediscover some of their premises and deeply held tactic knowledge, to entertain new perspectives, and ultimately to enter into thoughtful dialogue with one another.

In addition to the concert, Creative Leaps International will host a series of workshops from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 14. These free workshops are open to the public, but registration is required and seating is limited.

The workshops are:

  • Leadership: Thinking, Perceiving and Judgment
  • Of Color and Courage
  • Top Form: Risk, Focus, Flow
  • The Kinesthetics of Leadership
