UA Celebrity Series Starts with the Blast of the Horn

Vladislav Lavrik, one of the most outstanding classical and jazz trumpeters of his generation, will be the first performance of the School of Music’s 2008-2009 Celebrity Series at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 16 in the Moody Music Building Concert Hall on The University of Alabama campus.

UA Professor Wins Key Award in Gerontology from APA

Dr. Forrest Scogin, an expert in mental health and aging and professor of clinical psychology at The University of Alabama, has won the M. Powell Lawton Distinguished Contribution Award for Applied Gerontology from the American Psychological Association. The award was given at the APA’s convention last month in Boston.
