John Mark Stallings, who died last weekend, was a blessing and an inspiration…When he came with his family to Alabama, John Mark took a very public and active role in this community. He volunteered weekly at the Rise program for disabled children at the University of Alabama. As a symbol of that program and the good that it does, he helped bring it unprecedented public support. He also worked at the Bryant Museum, where his cheerful attitude and helpful assistance were a bright beacon of inspiration…In 2005, the equipment room in the Crimson Tide’s football building was named in John Mark’s honor…
