Buffalo Rock/Pepsi Awarded Contract for Vending at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Buffalo Rock/Pepsi has been awarded the contract for vending on The University of Alabama campus, beginning June 1. The contract covers all vending machines on campus, but is not exclusive in dining facilities and retail outlets.

“We are pleased with our new working relationship with Buffalo Rock/Pepsi,” said Gina Johnson, UA associate vice president for auxiliary services. “Students will continue to have access to conveniently located vending machines that offer a variety of Pepsi products. And, we appreciate Buffalo Rock/Pepsi’s commitment to providing the highest possible customer service to the University community.”

The contract provides for debit card readers on most vending machines on campus and a wide variety of options, including healthy choices, in both snack and beverage vending. Buffalo Rock/Pepsi will begin installing its vending machines in late May.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with The University of Alabama and its students on meeting their total soft drink, snack vending and campus dining needs,” said Warren Austin, Buffalo Rock/Pepsi’s vice president of customer development, sales and service. “We look forward to cultivating and maintaining a great relationship for years to come.”

Crimson Tide Sports Marketing is currently evaluating proposals for the concession rights in athletic venues, and expects to make a final decision in the coming weeks.
