UA’s Dance Alabama! Offers Audiences A Chance to ‘Reflect’

TUSCALOOSA, Ala – Dance Alabama!, a showcase of the best works of The University of Alabama’s undergraduate choreographers, will be performed Tuesday, Feb. 19-Friday, Feb. 22, in Morgan Auditorium on the UA campus.

The performance will include “Moment 2 Reflect,” a ballet work featuring music composed and performed live by violinist D-Sharp#. Sheniqua Trotman, who performed last semester in UA’s “The Amen Corner,” is a soloist in another work.

The student-choreographed work conveys powerful messages of love, life and loss with explosive energy. The dances are set to music by the Beatles, Radiohead, Quintango and others. You never know what you will find on the stage during this display of fresh talent.

“Dance Alabama! is a show pleaser for the audience because it’s always filled with young, energized ideas,” says Cornelius Carter, UA’s director of dance.

Dance Alabama! will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19-Thursday, Feb. 21 and at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22 in Morgan Auditorium.
