UA Alum Ty Warren Brings National Recognition to Forensics Program

Ty Warren, a University of Alabama graduate from Enterprise who now runs a successful consulting and training firm, has brought acclaim to his alma mater by being named National Speaker of the Year by Delta Sigma Rho-Tau Kappa Alpha National Forensics (debate) Honor Society, its highest award.

Engineering Project Explores Energy Conservation Through Shark Research

The stars of the “Jaws” films–sharks–have recently become the subject of a University of Alabama engineering research project. Conducted by Dr. Amy Lang, assistant professor of aerospace engineering and mechanics, the project explores energy conservation and boundary layer control in regard to a shark’s surface.

Legislators to Tour UA Autism Research Clinic, Preschool

As the number of diagnoses increase, autism continues to be a major concern for Alabama lawmakers and faculty at The University of Alabama. A legislative tour of UA’s Autism Spectrum Disorders Research Clinic and Speech and Hearing Center’s preschool classroom is planned for Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch.
