A total of 4,697 students enrolled during the fall 2006 semester at The University of Alabama made the Dean’s List with academic records of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or above, or the President’s List with academic records of 4.0.

UA Ranks 11th in Enrollment of National Merit Scholars

The University of Alabama’s vision of recruiting the “best and brightest” students is clearly becoming a reality as UA ranks 11th in the nation among public universities in the enrollment of National Merit Scholars for 2006-2007, and 29th among all universities. The rankings, based on the National Merit Scholarship Corp.’s newly-released 2005-2006 annual report, place UA among the top 8 percent nationally among colleges and universities that enrolled National Merit Scholars.

African-American Read-In to be Held at UA

The University of Alabama Women’s Resource Center and the WILL program (Women Involved in Learning and Leading) are sponsoring the National African-American Read-In Monday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. in the UA Crossroads Community Center lounge in Ferguson Center.
