UA Plank Center to Award $25,000 in Leadership Grants in Public Relations

The Plank Center for Public Relations Studies at The University of Alabama will again award up to $25,000 in competitive grants to scholars and professionals to study leadership in public relations. The grants of $2,500 to $10,000 will support research that advances knowledge of leadership in the profession and helps develop excellence in leadership.

Oldest Writing from New World Creates Buzz

Carved across the surface of a 26-pound stone slab unearthed in Veracruz, Mexico is the oldest known writing ever discovered in the Americas, according to a paper published in the Sept. 15 issue of the journal Science by a 7-person team of archaeologists, including Dr. Richard A. “Dick” Diehl, professor of anthropology at The University of Alabama.
