Aaron Vold Named Director of Development for UA’s College of Arts and Sciences

Aaron Vold has been appointed director of development for The University of Alabama’s College of Arts and Sciences. In this role, Vold will lead the College’s fund-raising efforts for the “Our Students. Our Future.” campaign and cultivate, solicit and steward gifts to the College. He held a similar position at UA’s Capstone College of Nursing, where he served as director of advancement.

Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar to Lecture at UA

Dr. Margaret Levi, 2007 Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar, will give a public lecture at The University of Alabama Monday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. on the second floor of Amelia Gayle Gorgas Library. Her topic will be “Achieving good government – and maybe legitimacy.”

UA Social Work Professor Receives Fulbright Award

Dr. Ellen Csikai, associate professor of social work at The University of Alabama, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to lecture at the University of Debrecen in Hungary during the 2007-08 academic year, according to the United States Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
