Poet to Give Lecture, Last Reading of UA’s 2006 Bankhead Visiting Writers Series

Poet Barry Schwabsky will give a public lecture in 203 Garland Hall on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6 pm., and will give the final reading of the fall 2006 Bankhead Visiting Writers Series in 301 Morgan Hall Friday, Nov. 17 at noon.

RSA’s Bronner to Deliver Keynote Address at UA’s 2007 Economic Outlook Conference

Dr. David Bronner, chief executive officer of the Retirement Systems of Alabama, will be the luncheon speaker at the 2007 Economic Outlook Conference, presented by The University of Alabama’s Center for Business and Economic Research. The conference is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 23, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Montgomery.

UA Engineering Awarded Research Grant by Construction Industry Institute

The University of Alabama College of Engineering was awarded a research grant by the Construction Industry Institute. The $153,400 project will research preconstruction planning for renovation projects. This is the first Construction Industry Institute research project awarded directly to The University of Alabama College of Engineering.
