One of the world’s leading astronomers of the 19th century, who was responsible for construction of The University of Alabama’s only remaining original classroom building, will be the focus of an April 7 talk by a UA professor.

UA Engineering Students Design Shingle Lifting Devices

University of Alabama senior mechanical engineering students have designed and created shingle lifting devices for Habitat for Humanity. The lifts are used to save labor by lifting shingle bundles and other materials to the roof of houses in the process of being built.

UA Astronomers to Host Public Sky Viewing March 31

A pair of University of Alabama astronomers will host, weather permitting, a free public sky viewing of star clusters, Saturn and the Orion Nebula Friday night, March 31 from 7-10 using telescopes at UA’s Moundville Archaeological Park.
