UA Homecoming Concert Moved to Better Accommodate Large Crowd

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama Homecoming Concert by the Ying Yang Twins hip hop duo will be held on the grass parking lot just west of University Medical Center to better accommodate the anticipated large crowd. The concert will begin at 10 p.m., Friday, Oct. 27.

The concert is the second of two music acts to be presented by University Programs that evening. Country singer Neal McCoy will perform on the Quad at approximately 8 p.m., following the bonfire.

“We expect as many as 120,000 students, alumni, fans and visitors on campus this weekend. Holding the concerts in separate venues is the best way to make sure participants for all festivities can fully enjoy the Homecoming experience,” said Deborah M. Lane, UA executive director of public relations.

The move will ensure that stage set-up for the Ying-Yang Twins will be ready in advance and that they can start on time. Students, alumni and visitors will have plenty of time to attend the bonfire on the Quad before moving on to the area near University Medical Center. University Medical Center is located at the corner of University Boulevard and Fifth Avenue East.
