
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — University of Alabama senior Mallory D. Smith of Fort Payne has received a $1,000 academic scholarship from Tourism Cares for Tomorrow.
Smith is a student in the UA College of Human Environmental Sciences majoring in restaurant, hotel and meetings management with a minor in business management.
She is one of 37 recipients of the Tourism Cares for Tomorrow national scholarship. As part of the award, Smith is eligible to attend the National Tour Association Convention in Salt Lake City with the other award recipients in November.
Smith currently works as an event coordinator in the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration at UA. This summer, she will be interning at Cloister Hotel and Resort in Sea Island, Ga.
