Intel Corp. Director of Diversity Headlines UA’s M.B.A. Week

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Rosalind Hudnell, director of corporate diversity for Intel Corp., will be the featured speaker during The University of Alabama’s M.B.A. week beginning Feb. 27.

Diversity in the workplace is the focus of this year’s M.B.A. Week, coordinated by the Manderson Graduate School of Business.

Hudnell is the creator of the Intel Computer Clubhouse Network – a global program for underserved youth and communities, now recognized as the largest of its kind in the world. She also manages Intel’s approach to diversity and inclusion worldwide. She also oversees a team responsible for external outreach, employee affinity groups, retention and development programs, compliance, communications and training. Hudnell has been with Intel nine years and has worked in a variety of management positions related to community and government affairs.

Pam Vickers, manager of admissions and student services for the Manderson Graduate School of Business, said Hudnell “brings a global approach by working for a worldwide company. Through her experiences and challenges, we hope we can learn that diversity affects us in all aspects of life.”

Hudnell speaks on a variety of topics related to workforce and community development and the so-called “digital divide.” She will give a morning lecture open to all M.B.A. students and an afternoon lecture that will be open to the public. The afternoon lecture will be held in 30 Alston Hall.

“Because of the experience that Ms. Hudnell has with diversity in the corporate environment, we know that she will have a great impact on the students,” said Corey Phillips, president of the M.B.A. Association.

The M.B.A. Association, working closely with the M.B.A. office, is responsible for planning and implementing all M.B.A. week events. The association has a variety of events planned that will appeal to undergraduate, M.B.A. students, M.B.A. alumni, faculty and staff.

Some of the featured events include an internship session, Habitat for Humanity Project, tour of Golden Flake Snack Foods, visit to local schools to promote diversity, and an off-site recruiter session at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham.

This will be the first year the M.B.A. Week will include an off-site recruiter session. The session will take place in Birmingham to provide an opportunity for more recruiters to participate. A number of recruiters, including IBM, Mercedes-Benz, KPMG, SAKS and Ernst & Young, have been invited to attend. The off-site session will also provide an opportunity for M.B.A alumni from the Birmingham area to participate in the week’s activities.
