TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama chapter of Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society received a $160 project grant to help sponsor a Teach for America classroom library.
The purpose of the grant is to provide financial assistance for chapters to develop creative and original projects.
Mortar Board is a national honor society that recognizes college seniors for distinguished ability and achievement. Since its founding, Mortar Board has grown to 213 chapters and has initiated more than 240,000 members. Members of Mortar Board are given the unique opportunity of spending their senior year working to give back to their communities through leadership, scholarship and service.
