Quarters on the Quad Event Held at UA for Hurricane Relief

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – On Wednesday, Oct. 12, quarters will be taped all across The University of Alabama Quad in a campus event raising funds to help hurricane victims.

Four sides of the Quad will be lined with double-sided tape and people will be asked to place a quarter down for the relief efforts. All proceeds will go to the University of Alabama Hurricane Relief Fund.

Quarters on the Quad is sponsored by the UA Community Service Center and Russell Student Health Center, in conjunction with the UA Student Health Fair. All proceeds go to the University of Alabama Hurricane Relief Fund.

UA student organizations and teams of students can sponsor sections of the Quad and ask people as they walk by to donate a quarter for hurricane relief efforts. Organizations and teams will man their designated section of the Quad from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Check in begins at 9 a.m. Student teams need to consist of at least eight students.

Registration applications for student organizations and student teams are available on the CSC Web site at www.volunteer.ua.edu or in the CSC, 355 Ferguson. Registration forms are due in the CSC by noon on Oct. 5.
