UA Wins Top Award for ‘Academic All-Americans’ Television Spot

The University of Alabama Office of University Relations has been awarded the highest honor given by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s District III for its “2004 USA Today Academic All-Americans” television spot.

Social Work Colloquium at UA to Feature Trustee Emeritus Cleo Thomas Feb. 18

Cleo Thomas Jr., trustee emeritus for the University of Alabama Board of Trustees, will be the featured speaker for the University of Alabama School of Social Work’s 17th Annual African-American Heritage Month Program Friday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. in 223 Little Hall on the UA campus.

UA Theatre Presents Moliere’s Hypochondriac

The University of Alabama’s department of theatre and dance proudly presents the regional premiere of “The Hypochondriac,” a musical comedy based on Moliére’s “The Imaginary Invalid,” with music and lyrics by UA Theatre and Dance program director Raphael Crystal. The production will be presented in the Allen Bales Theatre in the UA Theatre District, Feb. 22-26 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 27 at 2 p.m.

UA Student Association Hosts Faces of Iraq Photo Exhibit

The Culture of Peace Student Association will host the nationally acclaimed Faces of Iraq photography exhibit Feb. 15-25 in the Art Student League Gallery at 109 Woods Hall from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. weekdays on The University of Alabama campus.

UA Presents the Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre’s Spring Concert

The University of Alabama will present soloist Shouze Ma who will perform with the Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre at Morgan Hall Auditorium on Feb. 22-25. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. in Morgan Auditorium in UA’s Theatre District.

A total of 3,715 students enrolled during the fall 2004 term at The University of Alabama made the Dean’s List with academic records of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or above, or the President’s List with academic records of 4.0.
