TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Enterprise attorney Dale Marsh of Marsh, Cotter & Tindol, LLP, has been elected president of The University of Alabama School of Law Foundation.

A 1974 graduate of the UA law school, Marsh has served on the Foundation Board since 1995. He also serves on the Building Excellence Committee for the law school’s upcoming building renovation and expansion project. He served as president of the law school’s alumni association in 1995-96. His term as foundation president will conclude in 2006.

The Law School Foundation is crucial to the UA School of Law because it picks up where state funds leave off by providing additional support to the faculty and students through restricted and unrestricted funds.

“The law school has leaped forward in the national rankings and is now a Top 40 school,” Marsh noted. “I’m proud to be a graduate of the school and to play a part in its progress by serving as Law School Foundation president.”

Ken Randall, dean of the UA School of Law, said: “The Law School Foundation is blessed to have the leadership of Dale Marsh. He will provide creative, conscientious, ethical, and proactive stewardship of an organization vital to the success of The University of Alabama School of Law.”

Marsh is a member of the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He was a member of the Alabama Board of Bar Commissioners from 1994-97, and currently serves as vice president of the Alabama Counsel of School Board Attorneys. He is managing partner of his firm.

Marsh is active in community service and civic activities, having served as chairman of the Enterprise-Ozark Community College Foundation since 1992, and was selected as the Enterprise Man of the Year in 1991. Marsh served in the Alabama Army National Guard and the Army Reserve for a total of 31 years.

Marsh and his wife Joan are the parents of two children, Katherine, a 2004 graduate of the law school, and John, a first-year student at the law school.
